Robert Sackey
Founder and Principal

Robert Sackey has been living in El Cerrito, California for the past 30 years. He has been coaching and developing soccer programs in the Bay Area for more than 25 years, and has been a CYSA Staff coach for 15 years. Coach Sackey started the El Cerrito High Girls Soccer program and was their Head Coach for 13 years, served as Head Coach for Head-Royce Boys and Girls Soccer teams for 9 years, and coached the San Francisco Nighthawks (a woman’s semi-pro team) for 4 years.  He worked as a Team Scout and Technical Advisor for Ghana Women’s National team, the Black Queens, in the 2003 World Cup, U.S.A, and for Ghana Men’s National team, the Black Stars in the 2006 World Cup, Germany. Coach Sackey continues to support the development of soccer in his native Ghana through his nonprofit organization, Sabisoccer Academy, and frequently brings coaches and players to Ghana to work with youth soccer players.

Sankoda Lodge is your Ghanian home away from home! It has been designed and is operated by Ghanian and American countryman, Robert Sackey. The lodge is located in Sekondi-Takoradi and approximately an hour from the Cape Coast, Ghana’s cultural epicenter and resides on an acre of land, with 9 nicely furnished units, including full bathrooms, mini fridge and television. The facilities include a recreational center for meals and group gatherings.

Owner operator, Robert Sackey and his team will provide cultural tours to historical destinations like Kakum National Park and Cape Coast Castle & Dungeons.
